Special Olympics State Conference: BE YOU. Not Them. — Loving Your People Without Losing Yourself
BE YOU. Not Them. — Loving Your People Without Losing Yourself
Participants will:
Reconnect with who they are beyond the role of caregiver, advocate, parent, sibling, or supporter.
Recognize what is truly theirs to carry...and what is not...while continuing to love and advocate well.
Explore how healthy boundaries can create space for both personal well-being and greater independence for the person they love.
Conference Description
When you love someone with a disability, advocacy, caregiving, planning, and problem-solving can quickly become part of everyday life. BE YOU. Not Them. is a conversation about loving your people fiercely without losing yourself in the process. Through personal stories and practical reflection, participants will consider who they are beyond their caregiving role, what is truly theirs to carry, and how healthy boundaries can create room for everyone in the family to grow. The session will conclude with time for questions and conversation.
